Additional mutual aid crews arrived yesterday, May 11, adding an additional 100 crew members to recovery efforts. Approximately 300 mutual aid personnel are working alongside City crews as of this morning, and additional crews are arriving today.

City and mutual aid crews will continue working through the night to make repairs as total customers restored approaches 10,000. All substations are now energized, and additional mutual aid crews will arrive tomorrow. Updates will be posted to Talgov.com.

All StarMetro routes are still impacted by power lines and/or trees. Tomorrow, Saturday, May 11, StarMetro anticipates operating fixed routes on a Sunday schedule, beginning at 11 a.m. Continue to check social media for updates.

Circuit repairs serving 1174 customers in areas of Walden Rd, Buck Lake Rd, Nabb Rd, Medallion Way, Chevy Way, Rutledge Rd, Pedrick Rd, Tung Hill Dr, Groveland Hills Dr are now complete.
Repairs to circuits serving FAMU, downtown state offices and buildings, civic center and FSU Mag Lab have been completed.

All substations are now energized, and all customers fed by substation 13 (including FSU), circuit 1412 (978 customers), and circuit 711 (947 customers) have been restored.
Crews have cleared 109 blocked roads and are actively working to clear 119 more reported block roads.
May 10 - 6:54 p.m.
Restored 120 traffic signals to normal operations and deployed backup generators to 14 traffic signals. Coordinated with FDOT to begin deploying backup generators for state traffic signals. Staff are working to deploy additional backup generators to high-priority city and county traffic signals.
Housing and Community Resilience teams are conducting community damage assessments.
Parks and Recreation staff have begun cleaning debris at parks and facilities.

85% of repair work to the transmission infrastructure is complete. All substations now have power. There is much work to be done now on the distribution side of the system. Mutual aid crews onsite and working include Ocala, Dothan, Riviera, Thomasville, Cairo & Havana. Lakeland and KUA will arrive within the hour.

City solid waste services are suspended for Friday, May 10. The transfer station remains closed. Services are anticipated to resume tomorrow. All youth and adult sports/activities for Friday, May 10, are canceled.

With possible tornadic activity in Tallahassee, early assessments of the electric grid show severe damage to transmission lines, impacting 11 substations. Restoration will possibly take through the weekend. Mutual aid has been requested. Crews from 8 utilities are on their way to assist from Central Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, and Jacksonville. Over 66,000 customers are without service.
